Denominational Affiliation
Dahlonega Baptist Church is a cooperating Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) congregation, which means we voluntarily cooperate in mission and ministry efforts with other congregations affiliated with the SBC.
Also, a number of Dahlonega Baptist members have chosen to affiliate with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, or CBF. CBF grew out of the Southern Baptist Convention as a "fellowship of Baptist Christians and churches who share a passion for the Great Commission of Jesus Christ and a commitment to Baptist principles of faith and practice".
Our congregation allows members to determine how their mission offerings will be directed, to SBC causes, or to CBF causes.
Our goal is to keep focused on the main thing:
- To Gather persons for life-changing worship, education, fellowship and ministry;
- To Equip disciples for holy living and Christ-like service, and
- To Send servants to share Christ and His compassion.
We value our long-term affiliation with the Southern Baptist Convention, and as much as we encourage everyone to support either the SBC or CBF, we remain focused on our Gathering, Equipping, Sending mission. We refuse to allow denominational identity to be our main focus.
