Care Giving Ministry
The Care Giving Ministry of DBC exists to show the love of God in Christ to all Church members by maintaining frequent contact with the fellowship and offering help in times of need. DBC Care Giving Ministry establishes and supports multiple "Little Flocks" within the church. A "Little Flock" is composed of a leader and approximately seven (7) families. A "Little Flock" can be (1) an entire Sunday School Class or, if the class is large, it might be divided into several "Little Flocks", or (2) a "Little Flock" can be entirely independent of the Sunday School.
A "Little Flock Leader" has the responsibility of frequently contacting (once or twice a month) his or her "Little Flock" members by telephone, by email, or preferably talking with them Sunday morning, Wednesday evening, or at some other time when their paths cross during the week. The objective is to greet each other in Christ and inquire how the family is doing. If a family member is in need of prayer, of if one or more family members is sick and the family is in need of help with meals or transportation, or if there is some other need expressed, the "Little Flock" leader will assist in mobilizing other members of his or her "Little Flock" to help or, if the need is great, contact the Church office and seek help from the Church at large.
This ministry is intended to ensure that no matter how large Dahlonega Baptist Church grows, every member experiences the love and care of their "Little Flock" in particular and the Church as a whole.
